Latino Community Fund Statewide Summit offers an unprecedented opportunity for Latinos and allies from multiple sectors to get engaged in timely and solutions-oriented training and planning that improves the health and well-being of Washington State’s Latino communities. The summit is a combination of several interconnected events:
- The Professional-Development Institute – This event is designed for Latino and Non-Latino professionals working with Latino and Immigrant youth, families and communities. The event features day long tracks designed to deepen participant’s knowledge and skills in specific areas such as public policy, Latino education, early learning and working with Latino families and communities.
- The Latino Community Fund Awards Brunch – Join over 250 Latino and Non-Latino leaders from across the state in recognizing and celebrating “what is working in the Latino community”. The celebration will feature live music and theater by some of Washington’s most talented artists.
- El Encuentro Comunitario – The Encoentro (encounter) is an opportunity for Latino grass-top and grassroots community leaders and their allies to learn, plan and coordinate together for 2011-12.
- The Young Latino Leaders Institute – This institute brings together high school and college youth leaders from across the state.
- Elected Officials Reception – Participants registered for any of the other summit events will have an opportunity to attend a wine and cheese meet-and-greet with candidates, public & elected officials.
